Municipalities

We’re a group of British Columbia jurisdictions who are piloting a regionally coordinated benchmarking and disclosure program, and we want you to join us!

  • We’re in year one of a two year benchmarking and disclosure pilot initiative that was generously seed funded by Natural Resources Canada.
  • The overarching purpose of this program is to establish normal processes for benchmarking and disclosure programs, hopefully leading to comprehensive, province wide adoption.
  • Target buildings in the first year of this program include public sector buildings and private buildings over 50,000 square feet.
  • OPEN Green Building Society is convening the program.
Introducing

GRID by Open

We are using OPEN Technology's GRID Benchmark Software tool, developed with the generous support of Natural Resources Canada and designed to help jurisdictions to manage and display energy benchmark data. GRID includes a CRM and a disclosure tool, and builds upon Energy Star Portfolio Manager and SEED.

03

Including a reasonable number of municipally owned buildings in the program.

04

Looking for opportunities to generate media or recognition with regards to the program.

We believe that Building Benchmark BC represents a key step forward for building energy management, and supports Federal, Provincial, and local government policy direction toward low-energy and low-carbon buildings.
